WHAT WE DO
We design and handcraft unique, one of a kind & limited edition photo books, albums, portfolios and presentation boxes for private and corporate clients.
In our equipped studio we use advanced printing equipment along side traditional bookbinding equipment.
OUR UNIQUE PROCESS
Each book is a unique collaboration between us and the client. Creating a book—infused and shaped by the uniqueness of the people, events, or places to whom it is linked— provides the context for pictures to be valued, understood, and loved, for years to come. The result are books in form, but also much more: physical manifestations of the past and present combined, art pieces, visual diaries, modern heirlooms.
BRAINSTORMING
We develop a concept and form for the book. The creative process begins with getting to know who you are, your personality/profile, and the experiences you want to capture in its pages.
MATERIALS
Everything from the design of the cover, the arrangement of photos & text, and the weight and texture of the paper, to the color and suppleness of the leather, the style of binding, and the blending of different materials into one unique form.
CREATION
We create your book using a wide range of techniques and structures. In some projects we work with other artists—carpenters, glass-makers, metal workers—to create different elements for the book.
OUR PRINTING METHODS
We use 3 main printing technologies to create your perfect book. You have your book printed elsewhere? An original art work? No problem, we would love to offer the best binding for you.
PIGMENT/GICLEE
An advanced Epson printer and the best paper used for archival, museum quality prints. We mainly use Canson and Moab, Matte finish RAG paper. Every page looks like a piece of art by itself. The prints are coated manually for protection when used in a book. Max GSM 220
SEMI GLOSS LAB PAPER
The standard for photo albums. An ideal choice for deep, colorful photographic prints. The album is constructed using mounted prints. Page thickness is 1.2mm approx.
